Fed: Labor has undergone generational change = 3
Mr Latham said some people would be asking who was Mark Latham, and what did he stand for.
"I stand for the things that I've been doing all my life - working hard, trying to
climb that ladder of opportunity," he said.
"I believe in an upwardly mobile society when people can climb the rungs of opportunity,
climbing the ladder of opportunity for a better life for themselves and their family.
"I believe in hard work. I believe in reward for effort. I believe in a government
that's there to help the people who are doing the right thing, the people who are getting
stuck in, doing things the fair-dinkum Australian way."
